This version of the Mr. Spock uniform in the 2009 Star Trek movie style is more expensive than other versions, but not overly so, given the high quality and more complete costume. It comes in M, L, and X-Large and includes the uniform shirt with silver rank stripes, a deluxe black undershirt, and a real Starfleet communicator pin rather than the sewn-on types on the other costumes. Reviewers indicated that it is cut a little large and a size smaller will probably work if you are on the borderline. The five reviewers (to date) have given it a solid 4 out of 5, mainly because of some questions on fit.
Like other uniform shirts, it needs to have good black pants and boots or loafers, which you can find in our Accessories section, or use your own if they look realistic enough. New Lower Price: This deluxe version of the blue uniform costume for men is cast in the Star Trek movie style. It has a solid ranking of 4, with most ratings higher than that but a couple of 3′s to drag it down. It is a good value if the Grand Heritage one is out of your price range. It comes in M, L, and X-Large, and includes a comfortable blue jersey uniform shirt with silver rank stripes, the embroidered Starfleet communicator, and an attached black dickie.
Like the other versions of a Starfleet costume uniform, you’ll need to add black pants and boots or shoes/loafers. I recommend boots for a more realistic look. And don’t do tight bottom legs in the black pants. It ruins the usual line of the costume. Some reviewers also recommended going with the black undershirt as an accessory since it completed the neckline better than the attached part.
Sizing was a problem for this version for a couple of guys, leading them to have lower ratings. They felt the quality was good and it was comfortable and not scratchy like many costumes, but they had a little trouble figuring out the right size and recommended ordering a little smaller. The uniform shirt still appears a little long, but the embroidery is good and it is a solid costume. New Lower Price: This deluxe version of the 2009 Movie style is for Plus sizes, and the ratings are great – one customer reviewing gives it a 5 out of 5. The price is a little higher, but since the size is harder to find and plus sizes usually are a little more, it is reasonable. The Plus size states for Men (Sizes 44-50). Like the deluxe regular sizes, it comes with the Star Trek blue uniform costume shirt, silver rank bands at the wrist, the screen-printed communicator, and an attached black dickie.
Like other Star Trek costume styles, you’ll want to accessorize with quality black pants with the flared leg at the bottom and solid black loafers or boots. The ones on the BuyCostumes.com site are quite nice. The phaser is also a popular add-on.
The reviewer said he had trouble finding plus size costumes and was really happy to find this at a reasonable price and with such high quality. If you’re going for Bold and Beautiful in Starfleet Blue, this attractive Secret Wishes blue dress uniform is a good way to go. It only received a 4 out of 5 rating, mainly because there are some mixed feelings on this one.
The dress, which does not come with accessories such as boots which I recommend, it is a nice design. It is a short blue dress in a sheath style that comes in X-Small, S, and Medium, and features 3/4 length sleeves with gold rank trim on the cuffs. The low-cut neck collar is trimmed in black, and you have the Starfleet emblem on the chest
As I mentioned, reviews were mixed, with two above 4, a 3 and a 1, which is why the average is so skewed. The negative reviewer felt it didn’t look like a Star Trek uniform, didn’t match the photo, and wasn’t flattering.
The rating of 3 was given by a lady who felt it was decent quality but a little pricey. She felt it made a nice 50′s costume but not very fancy.
The happier reviewers felt that the costume was so good that Captain Kirk would have “chased her all through the Enterprise.” The top rating was given by a lady who was going to go with the jumpsuit but was encouraged to go for the “hot look” for her “Captain Picard.” She felt the costume was a great purchase and a lot of fun to wear.
